LYX POLEFIXTURE

LYX, meaning luxury in Swedish, was created with the vision of adding that extra, something exclusive, something beyond the ordinary to urban spaces. It is a luminaire that celebrates light by allowing it to break, sparkle, and gleam in beautifully polished prisms, resembling the spring sun on glittering fresh snow. LYX is not the type of post luminaire that eyes avoid to protect night vision; it is something one seeks with the gaze, a beautiful and mood-setting ornament.

The luminaire's design, with its generous surface of sparkling prisms, powerfully contributes to reducing discomfort glare without compromising on function, thanks to the combination with modern lens technology. Four different optics are available as standard choices. The mounting bracket allows for single, double, or triple post mounting, catenary mounting, or ceiling installation.

Jan Forsmark explains the design process: To create a harmonious atmosphere in my private relaxation area outside the sauna, I chose to install an elegant enclosed luminaire with hanging prisms. The luminaire underwent careful testing and was equipped with a light source whose design, along with the polished prisms, brought the light to life and provided excellent diffusion. As a passionate light and luminaire designer, I was also inspired by the beautiful and atmospheric light pattern. An idea emerged to similarly transfer the classic feeling of luxury from a crystal chandelier to a modern, stylish post luminaire suitable for parks and squares. When I was later approached by Zero to design a post luminaire for them, I saw my chance to revive my old idea. During the sketching process, the design was given the working name "LYX," which is not far from the Latin name for light, "lux." When all the pieces fell into place, I realized that the luminaire's simple design language, combined with the expressive light experience, could not be described better than simply "LYX."
